The perfect starting point for nature lovers and cyclists! Our camper site offers a peaceful spot to enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Drenthe. Borger is located in the heart of a green and varied landscape with vast forests, heaths, and picturesque villages that invite exploration.
Cycling Routes and Dolmen
Borger is a fantastic place for cycling enthusiasts. The village is the “dolmen capital” of the Netherlands and is home to the country’s largest dolmen. The Hunebed Centre here tells you all about these prehistoric monuments and is a must-see during your stay. From Borger, you can follow a beautiful cycling route that takes you past several other dolmen in the area, making for a historic and scenic bike ride.
Borger and the Surroundings
Borger’s village center is within walking distance and offers cozy terraces, restaurants, and shops. Within 10 to 15 kilometers, you can reach nearby villages like Exloo and Drouwen, where you’ll find beautiful natural areas and even more dolmen. Small towns such as Assen and Emmen are only about a half-hour drive away but can also be reached by bike if you’re up for a longer ride.

A weekly market every Tuesday morning and a fair every Friday in high season.

Swimming facilities
In the immediate surroundings, in the middle of the forests, you will find several natural lakes with large sandy beaches, where you can swim and sunbathe - 't Nije Hemelriek. If the weather is not so good, you can swim in the indoor subtropical swimming pool in Borger.
